Noise & probe lab

Three browser tools built on the same three emulated processors: MOS 6502, CHIP-8 and Intel 8086. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Noise to boot v16Seeded noise run as code on all three machines, narrated as two boot tracks each. Load your own bytes or a disk image. Hex probe v12Runs a hex dump or disk image as machine code and tests whether it behaves like a program or like random bytes. Virtual phoneThe phone check on its own, for testing other versions. Below, it runs with both apps built in.

Virtual phone with both apps running preloaded

Loads noise boot or hex probe into a phone-sized screen and runs the checks from both phone checks there. The screen is the real size of the phone in CSS pixels, so layout, wrapping and scrolling behave as they would on it. It can't copy a phone's processor, touch input or keyboard: step timings and freeze lengths are this computer's, multiplied by the phone-speed setting as an estimate (frame rates are as measured here), and the checks marked "real phone only" still need a real one. Nothing is uploaded.

Both apps are already loaded. To test other versions, drop noise boot or hex probe files here
